WKCC staff and volunteers recognized

Local public radio staff and volunteers were recognized for their work during a luncheon held on Thursday, December 3rd at Kankakee Community College. In attendance were: Heather Claborn, staff reporter; James D. Jones, operations and Magical Mystery Tour; Willie Dixon, Jr., In a Mellow Tone; Dale Bowman, Outdoors with Dale Bowman; Vic Johnson, Grand Prairie Chronicles; Matt Callan, In a Mellow Tone; Ted Petersen, Sports Report; Bert Jacobson, Green Minute; Pamela Powell, Reel Focus; Carl Maronich, The Really Big Show; James Walker and D’Arcy Ballinger, Friends of the Blues; and Jonathan Coke, general manager. Not able to attend: Steve Case, Sky Watch.

WKCC will cease local broadcast operations on Friday evening, December 18th at the conclusion of a special, final episode of In a Mellow Tone, hosted by Willie Dixon, Jr. – on the occasion of his 400th show.
