Join fellow Badgers in repairing and preserving our beautiful Chicago River by volunteering with Friends of the Chicago River on Chicago River Day! It’s a fun annual cleanup Saturday, May 9, 2026 from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m at Bunker Hill North.

About:
• Volunteers pick up trash, though we may help with additional stewardship activities at some locations like removing invasive plants and trail maintenance, depending on the needs of the site. Please dress with long pants and bring bug spray, appropriate footwear, and water.
• Registration for Chicago River Day is open until each site reaches capacity. Children eight years old and up are eligible to volunteer with a guardian. We are meeting at the Pavilion in Grove 5.
