On March 19, 1939, just months after he prevailed in a lawsuit to force the University of Missouri to accept him to its all-white law school, a young Black man named Lloyd Gaines went missing and was never seen again.
After graduating from the historically Black Lincoln University in 1935, Lloyd Gaines applied for admission to the segregated University of Missouri School of Law—the only law school in the state. In March of 1936, the school notified Mr. Gaines that his application had been rejected and instead offered to subsidize his tuition elsewhere (at a historically Black law school or a non-segregated law school in another state).

Tanghulu in less than 5 mins! 🍓 ** FYI, the sugar and the dipping containers get SUPER hot because you’re microwaving this for a few mins. Make sure to use protective gear*! Serving size: 1 -4 tbsp sugar -2 tbsp water -washed and fully dried fruit of choice Steps: 1. Add the sugar into a heat safe vessel and add the water. DONT stir. 2. Place into a microwave and microwave on 30 second increments until the sugar dissolves and turns an amber color. DO NOT mix or stir the sugar between microwave increments! This disturbs the crystallization 2.5. If you do larger portions (like the one I tripled) you can microwave for 1 min increments! ** THE SUGAR BURNS FAST** so once you see that the sugar is dissolved and starts to turn color, go down to 15 second increments until it’s at an amber color. Total cook time for 1 serving is about 3-4 mins (6-8 30 second increments) in the microwave. 3. Dip your fruit in and immediately place into an ice bath. Enjoy immediately!
