I’m cleaning out my portfolios and here’s a cover I did in 2006 for the edition of a local music mag. I was paid zero dollars for this work, and a few others I did for them, including a cover for a edition. I got the courage to ask for compensation, finally, when I finished the one, suggesting maybe a free pass? Didn’t get that, nor anything, from the publisher. I still haven’t been to Lolla. But I bought tickets to in ‘06 and every other year it happened (including the in ‘05, the “first” Pitchfork fest). While doing free work kinda sucks and the “exposure” netted me no referral work whatsoever, it was still hella cool to go to in 2006 and see hundreds of people with my art in their hands (or littering the grounds 😕). I’m bummed that my 15 year tradition of going to Pitchfork is a no-go this year, but I guess I’m glad it isn’t bc I decided I “aged out” of festivals or anything like that, and instead it’s because of a serious fu***ng global pandemic, and festivals now would be a horrible idea! Crossing my fingers that there’s a to look forward to. 🤞🤟

**kbloq is gonna take a stab at paste up street art during these times of covid-19 isolation/boredom/loneliness. It will be a reason to take a solo walk or bike ride around the neighborhood at night, and leave something behind that hopefully makes others smile when they do the same. I’ve been wanting to try this for quite some time, and now seems as good as any. Wish me luck!

We busted Ajo, and kept driving all the way to a Mexican beach town for a day trip. Then, it rained, so we ate lots of seafood, and drove back to Arizona. @ Puerto Peñasco, Sonora
