What is National Donor Day? Observed annually on February 14, National Donor Day aims to raise awareness of the live-saving benefits of five different types of donation – Organs, Tissues, Marrow, Platelets, and Blood.

What Can I Donate to Help People with Cancer? 1.) Blood or Platelets 2.) Bone Marrow 3.) Umbilical Cord 4.) Hair 5.) Donate your voice as an advocate 6.) Donate your time to a cancer organization 7.) Donate your time to someone who has cancer

Any and all of these suggestions can mean a lot to any cancer patient.

World Cancer Day was celebrated on February 4, 2023. World Cancer Day is an international day designed to raise awareness of cancer and to encourage its prevention, detection, and treatment.
What color is World Cancer Day? All cancers.
A lavender ribbon is usually a sign of support for those living with all types of cancer. Sometimes, people wear a rainbow of ribbons or a ribbon with many different colors to symbolize the same thing. National Cancer Prevention Month and World Cancer Day take place in February each year.
What can you do for World Cancer Day?
1.) Many cancer patients come from low income families. What about putting together some gift bags for hospitalized cancer patients with small gifts like: socks, blankets, bottled water, mints, etc.
2.) Why not volunteer at a hospital or clinic that services cancer patients. Or maybe you could visit children in the hospital that are battling cancer and engage in coloring or working on puzzles.

Our Goal is to help minority women and men through the process of preventive treatment, because we know being diagnosed with any form of cancer can be a stressful life changing experience… Our Focus is to educate the minority community about cancer, to motivate through dedication, advocacy, healing and growth, and a commitment to the community.

We want women and men to undergo screen so they can “ spread the word ” to their sisters, brothers, mothers, sons and daughters. SEL believes in Cancer is second only to heart disease as a leading cause of death among minorities according to a 1998-99 figures from the American Cancer Society.Statistics show that cancer death rates among minorities are higher than other racial of ethnic populations in the United States It is clear that minorities have increased incidents of cancer, and in general a higher mortality rate from cancer.
