All Souls wants to send much love and humongous congratulations to one of our All Souls family, the Honorable Marian Perkins, who for her tireless efforts in improving the quality of life for African-Americans in Chicago, was presented with the 2020 C.F. Stradford Award by State’s Attorney, Kimberly M. Foxx, at the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office’s Thirtieth Annual C.F. Stradford Awards Ceremony.

Marian has continued in the tradition of C.F. Stradford, who demonstrated an unrelenting commitment to social justice and a dedication to opening doors and removing barriers for future African-American lawyers, as well as representing a bastion for change and progress in the African-American community for decades. We love you, Marian!!

We invite everyone to join the All Souls family this Sunday, September 29th, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the West Chesterfield Community Center, 9351 S. Michigan Ave., Chicago, IL for our third resumed service of the year after summer break. Our speaker, leading this expectedly rousing discussion addressing problematic issues she feels are impacting populations of color will be the incomparable Maria Kirby, Esq.

Atty. Kirby, esteemed alumni of multiple Ivy League institutions, has a multi year career as legal counsel on the federal level beginning as a law clerk for a federal judge, to working with the FCC, to counseling on the behalf of federal committee chairmen. Now, as she has taken her skills to the private sector as Senior Policy Counsel for Apple, Inc., she brings a unique perspective on the intersection of private and public entities and their approaches toward pertinent issues affecting communities of color. We hope you enjoy this discussion as much as we will!
