We're taking a moment to honor the life and work of Dr. Leon Finney, Jr. Doc was a dear friend and mentor to Desiree Tate as they organized to bring power and resources to Chicago's Black communities. He was a tireless leader, and when faced with a challenge or opportunity, his first question was always, "What's in it for the people?" I'm excited to be part of the newly-launched Call + Response program for African-American students graduating college with an Associate's or Bachelor's in political science, government affairs, international relations and the like.

Over 100 Black Obama administration appointees will be paired with a student for a virtual lightning mentoring session centered around professional and personal concerns like graduating and trying to find a job during a global pandemic.
