Congratulations to Matthew Spahr and Phillip May who recently competed in the AIPLA Giles S. Rich Memorial Intellectual Property Moot Court Competition. Twelve teams competed and our team walked away receiving the Best Brief award! 🎉 Each team had to write two briefs, one for the Appellant and one for the Appellee. The team was coached by Nicole Bashor. Great job team! We are so proud!

Congratulations to Margaret Ferran and Alyssa Garofalo who competed in the Immigration Moot Court Competition!

The team made it to the octofinal round 👏🏾 Their problem involved a noncitizen’s conviction under 8 USC §1326 (which criminalizes illegal entry into the United States by aliens who have previously been deported). More specifically, teams addressed 1) whether Respondent’s failure to register as a s*x offender is a crime of moral turpitude and 2) whether Respondent had a due process right to be made aware of discretionary relief from removal.

The brief was also written with Rebecca Rusiecki and the team was coached by Julia Funk.
