I first saw Portland's 31Knots at the Fireside Bowl in 2003 when Stillwell played with them at what would end up being our last show.

Years later, after their first few albums on Polyvinyl had come out, I messaged them out of the blue to see if they'd be down to let me do a vinyl version of It Was High Time To Escape.

The band was cool with it, 54'40 or Fight (who had released the CD) gave it their blessing, and we had our bud Jackson somehow recreate the original CD art at full LP size. Turned out absolutely fantastic. The LP has been out of print for about 10 years, but you can still catch the album on streaming. Highly recommend the entire 31Knots catalog for anyone who likes riffy mathy angular melodic indie weirdo rock.

Since we were just talking about Hero of A Hundred Fights recently, we thought we’d gift you with some old show footage from 2001 at Sputnik in Homewood, Illinois. Enjoy! (And maybe grab the EP on our Bandcamp page if you’re into it).

Milwaukee and/or Noise rock fans, this one’s for you. Tomorrow marks the 11th anniversary of Volunteer's “GONER”. It was self-recorded and mixed by the band, and released in collaboration with Triple Eye Industries on May 12th, 2015, which feels like a lifetime ago.

There were exclusive red/black LPs printed, but those are long gone. The good news is that you can still get one on the even more limited edition black vinyl on Bandcamp. Check it out!
