Confidence Conquers Fear

It’s really easy to feel worried and afraid during uncertain times. That’s totally natural. Living in fear doesn’t allow your best self to come forth to make decisions, solve problems, and be there for those around you. You can move forward with confidence even when there’s so much confusion. External situations are outside your control, what is in control is your response to those things.

Here are a few ideas:

Resilience. Remember when you have faced difficult times in the past and have made it through. What worked for you then, and how can you tap into that well of resources and experience now?

Action. What baby steps can you take to feel like you’re in control? Maybe it’s stocking up on supplies, or maybe it might be turning off the news for a while and meditating or getting some exercise. Call friends and family to stay connected.

Compassion. Respect those who might be reacting differently and support those who need your positivity. Sympathy means you can understand what a person if feeling. Empathy means you feel what a person is feeling. Compassion, however, is the willingness to relieve the suffering of others.* Ask yourself, “How can I be of benefit for this person.”

And, don’t forget it’s ok to ask for help and to tap into those who can give you strength. Stay in touch with me and others to support one another during these challenging times.
