Representing the llinois General Assembly as the President of National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL) at the NCSL Leaders International Symposium in Calgary, Canada has been an unforgettable honor! 🌍🇺🇸🇨🇦

This week, I joined fellow state lawmakers and international partners to tackle critical policies impacting us all, spanning energy, agriculture, and trade. It was a privilege to collaborate with dedicated leaders like NCSL Vice-President Bob Duff and Virginia House Majority Caucus Chair Mamie Locke to bring stronger, innovative solutions back home.

The Canadian hospitality was unmatched. A sincere thank you to Alberta Premier Danielle Smith and Ontario premier Doug Ford for so graciously welcoming our U.S. NCSL delegation and honoring us with the traditional White Hat Ceremony at the historic McDougall Centre.

We capped off a highly productive symposium by experiencing Calgary’s rich traditions at the world-famous Calgary Stampede! Huge thanks to the Calgary Stampede Chief Executive Officer, Joel Cowley and Vice Chair, Cherie Copithorne-Barnes for organizing and welcoming us to such a spectacular event and making us feel right at home.
