Nurses have a responsibility to promote the welfare of the community and its members. Therefore, when advocating for change in a community (social change), nurses should encourage participation from individuals in the community because, it is unnecessary to provide change that does not meet the specific needs of the recipients.

Quantitative research has been classified into two broad classes: experimental and non-experimental. In experimental research, researchers actively introduce an intervention or treatment, while in non experimental research researchers collect data without intervening or introducing treatments (Polit & Beck, 2008).
