Providing social, vocational and residential opportunities for young adults with autism

05/20/2026

We had a beautiful day welcoming Commissioner Rachel Arfa and her team from the Mayor's Office for People with Disabilities (MOPD) to the farm, joined by members of our Young Adult Advisory Council.

During the visit, we shared how Growing Solutions Farm helps students build employment-readiness skills like communication, teamwork, and work stamina through hands-on experience.

We're grateful for and their efforts to work with community partners like us!

Huge thanks to the Chicago Windy City Lions Club for their hard work helping maintain and care for Growing Solutions Farm.

The crew wrapped up weeding and mulching the sensory garden before moving on to other areas. Everyone pitched in, from grandma folding program t-shirts to mom and son helping clean up the farm together.

We’re also excited to welcome our new Markets & Volunteer Manager, Paula Jeremias. Thanks as well to Board Member Andi, John Hayes, and Farmer John for showing up and supporting the day.
