Mesirow was proud to host Sherrilyn Ifill in a conversation with Mesirow DEI Council Chair Leo Harmon as we recognize Black History Month. As a distinguished civil rights lawyer and scholar and leading voice in the nation’s ongoing conversation about race and civil rights, Ms. Ifill provided thoughtful insights connecting the history and impact of civil rights initiatives to the creation of a more diverse, inclusive workplace and society. At Mesirow, we know that our relevance, and our ability to serve clients, depends on the dynamic evolution of a workplace that prizes diverse thought and experience, and we appreciated Ms. Ifill’s unique perspectives.

Mesirow was pleased to participate in Cradles to Crayons’ 9th annual Backpack-A-Thon! Mesirow employees helped pack over 35,000 backpacks in a few hours with learning supplies for Chicago youth. In the next few weeks, these backpacks and more – more than 100,000 – will be in the hands of Chicago students for their first day of school.
