Announcing the Protect Laid-Off Workers Act to expand California’s layoff protection laws! Authored by Assemblymember Matt Haney, the Protect Laid-Off Workers Act will extend the requirement to give notice to workers of a layoff from 60 to 90 days, include contract workers in these protections, and ensure that no workers’ safety net is tied up in severance negotiations.
