What is Catechumeneon?

Liturgy Training Publications continues its commitment to training parish leaders and catechumenal ministers with its new initiative, Catechumeneon. The naming of this initiative is inspired by an ancient Greek word used to describe the meeting place for catechumens; it is a place for prayer, study, and formation. Rooted in the vision of the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults, Catechumeneon resources and training opportunities will provide catechists and other initiation ministers the formation and tools they need to journey with catechumens as they approach the waters of rebirth.

What is the purpose of Catechumeneon?

  • To impart the vision of the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults to parish leaders and catechumenal ministers and to train them in its pastoral implementation

  • To inspire them to spread the Gospel through their ministry (and animate the faithful in their baptismal responsibilities)
