🇺🇸 Lieutenant Governor Juliana Stratton recently hosted an essay contest in celebration of America’s 250th birthday titled, “Illinois to America: The Stories That Shape Us.” The contest was open to all Illinois students in grades 6-12 and invited them to share their experiences and thoughts on America’s history. 🎉 Congratulations to all the winners, especially Gabriel M. from the 24th District, for these thoughtful and moving essays! It’s already been a couple weeks, but here are photos from a really informative community meeting that the interns and I attended on how we can achieve the goals of safer streets for pedestrians and cyclists, cleaner air, and more accessible transportation. So excited that there is an Italian bakery in the 24th District! They are right on Archer Ave. just east of Loomis. It’s so cute and can accommodate eating in or take out! I definitely ordered way more than I should have, but everything looked so beautiful and delicious!
