On this final day of Women’s History Month 2025, we honor a woman who makes history every day — Marsha J. Eaglin, M.Ed.

Over 20 years ago, Marsha courageously left behind a successful career as an award-winning journalist with FOX, CBS, WTTW, Gannett, and more — and stepped fully into her purpose. With the unwavering support of her daughter-Allena, son-Matthew Eaglin and family, she dedicated her life to youth development on Chicago’s South Side.

As founder & chief executive of IMPACT Family Center, she has spent the last two decades teaching journalism, television production, and media literacy — giving young people a platform to raise their voices, tell their stories, and advocate for change in communities too often overlooked. She had amazing staff members and board of directors supporting her leadership. She refuses to allow accidents, injuries, or even brain surgery to stop her mission.

A former leader with both the National and Chicago Associations of Black Journalists and press secretary for the Rainbow-PUSH Coalition, Marsha’s legacy continues Inall of her work, but especially through the students she inspires to dream bigger, speak louder, and lead boldly. Their accomplments fuel her to do more.

She’s training the new Incoming executive director, Maya Orr and other alumni to continue her investment in our future. Ms. Marsha is not just making history — she’s helping the next generation write their own.
