Dr. Korinda Walls, our Business and Public Service Department Chair, is in Boston this week attending Harvard Business School! She was selected to attend a workshop on using the case method to teach American history and civics - a structured form of discussion-based learning that brings rigor and challenge to the classroom for all levels of learners. She's excited to bring what she has learned back to the Home of the Shamrocks this fall!

Twelve Shamrocks recently spent nine days exploring Costa Rica through an ACIS (American Council for International Studies) educational travel experience, led by Ms. Oliva and Mr. Cashman. ✈️

The trip gave students the opportunity to experience Latin American culture firsthand while making memories that will last a lifetime, visiting a town only accessible by boat, swimming in volcanic hot springs, ziplining through the rainforest, surfing, hiking, preparing local food, and even seeing both the Caribbean Sea and Pacific Ocean. 🌎

Experiences like these help our students learn beyond the classroom and see the world from a new perspective. The Language & Culture Department hopes to continue offering more travel opportunities with ACIS in the future. ☘️
