🪜 Stair Milestones 🪜
When do kids start using stairs? There’s a general timeline—but no strict rules. Every child develops at their own pace, and stair skills build gradually over time.
You may see:
• Crawling or creeping up stairs
• Walking up with support
• Step-to pattern (two feet per step)
• Progressing to alternating feet (one foot per step)
These skills require strength, balance, coordination, and confidence—and they don’t all come at once!
If you have questions about your child’s gross motor development, Core Kids Pediatric Physical Therapy is here to help 🤍

🌟 9–12 Month Motor Development 🌟
Between 9–12 months, babies are becoming confident movers and explorers!
During this stage, you may see skills like crawling efficiently, pulling to stand, cruising along furniture, transitioning in and out of sitting, and beginning to take independent steps.
These movements help develop balance, coordination, strength, and confidence as your baby prepares for walking and beyond.
Remember, every baby develops at their own pace.

👣Ladder Jumps Game👣
Ladder jumping with visual cues is one of our favorite ways to challenge a child’s brain and body. Each cue requires a different type of jump, helping kids learn how to adjust, problem-solve, and stay organized while moving.
This activity helps build:
✨Motor planning – deciding how to move based on each visual cues
✨ Coordination – keeping the body organized while changing patterns
✨ Sequencing – remembering and executing the order of jumps
✨ Strength & power – practicing controlled, purposeful jumps
✨ Attention & focus – staying engaged through the whole sequence
Love seeing the determination and joy in each step!

Please help welcome Sarah and Erin to our Core Kids Team! 🎉
We’re thrilled to have the opportunity to work together. Their addition allows us to offer more appointments — and yes, Saturday openings are now available as we continue to grow 🙂
💪 Strength + Balance Challenge 💪
Standing on a dynamic BOSU surface while pulling a large object with a rope is no easy task! This kiddo worked hard to stay balanced, engaged their core, and coordinated their movements to complete the challenge.
This activity helps target:
✨ Dynamic balance & postural control
✨ Core strength & stability
✨Upper extremity strength
✨ Bilateral coordination
✨ Motor planning & body awareness
✨Endurance & control
Turning hard work into fun—one pull at a time! 👏✨

🌟 6–8 Month Motor Development 🌟
Between 6–9 months, babies are becoming more mobile and curious about their world!
During this stage, you may start to see skills like rolling with ease, sitting independently, reaching outside their base of support, pivoting on their belly, and beginning to crawl or move forward in new ways.
These movements help build strength, coordination, and confidence for even bigger milestones ahead.
Remember, every baby develops at their own pace. If you have questions or concerns about your child’s gross motor milestones, Core Kids Pediatric Physical Therapy is here to help 🤍
