Joe Dilillo Music

Tomorrow I release my first song in over a year. I never intended to wait this long. In fact, this song was started over a year ago. Life always seemed to get in the way, as they say.

"Who We Are Now" is a bit of a departure from my earlier stuff. It's stripped down, it's short, it's EXPOSED. I wrestled a lot with putting it out. It's definitely out of my comfort zone. But it's honest, includes some great lyrics by Bill DeMain, a great video by Michael Lyons and, like all recordings, it's a snapshot of who I am at this point in time (Who I Am Now 😉)

My parents had great taste in music. I was very lucky. My mom, in particular, had a penchant for soft rock. As a really young kid, the backseat of her Monte Carlo swirled with the sounds of Paul Simon, Jim Croce, Gordon Lightfoot, Bread, Elton John and whatever the McCartney ballad du jour was.

Those songs were my companions on car trips to everywhere from grocery stores to grandma's house. They were my earliest friends. While I didn't set out to emulate any of them, I think the influences definitely crept in.

I am excited (and a bit nervous) for you to hear it. Tune in tomorrow here, there and everywhere music lives these days.

A year ago I released (with the help of some of my friends) my first EP "Superhero Star ". Even though it took a couple of years to complete, it was actually a lifetime in the making.

I have more music in the works, a new song was mixed last week, and several more are
being written.
