Meet Camille Bacon, our selected fellow for the 2026 Rotterdam Lab. Camille is a Chicago-based writer, filmmaker, producer, and co-founder of Jupiter Magazine 💫 She’ll be attending the Lab with her feature film “Prodigal Sun,” which she is producing and co-writing alongside filmmakers Josh Brainin and Youssef Boucetta.

Camille most recently produced the short film “It’s Just a Fu***ng Opening,” which had its North American premiere at the 2025 Chicago International Film Festival. Influenced by the exchange between literary and cinematic traditions, her work centers the poetic possibilities of cinema while expanding the contexts in which independent film is made and experienced.

🎞️ Held during the International Film Festival Rotterdam, Rotterdam Lab is an intensive five-day program that brings together emerging producers and creators from over 45 countries. Through panels, roundtables, and networking, the Lab supports the development of new voices and fosters lasting international connections within independent cinema.
