Chicagoland Rescue Intervention & Support Program - CRISP

Canela suffered a major tail injury, where most of the fur and skin was torn off completely.

We can't imagine watching a pet suffer without the means to pay for treatment. When the low cost clinics are booked, when there's no one there to help at the city shelter, we were able to be there for Canela.

Thank you again to Countryside Veterinary Center for continuously working with us to provide affordable treatment to pets in need.

Canela is now back home where he belongs!

Skey is a FELV cat that was recently adopted from Chicago Animal Care and Control. He started feeling sick after adoption, and after hundreds of dollars at a veterinary clinic his family tearfully ended up back at the shelter looking for help.

Thankfully we were connected with Skey's family and were able to send him to our vet for care. Skey had an appointment at our great friends Countryside Veterinary Center who came up with an affordable treatment plan so we could help Skey stay with his adopters.

Remy's family was faced with an impossible decision when she needed emergency surgery to remove a blockage.

Do they surrender her to a shelter?
Or do they euthanize her?

Fortunately we stepped in so neither of those choices had to be made. Instead, we partnered with our friends at KodiakCare to sponsor Remy's surgery.

Thanks to Old Town Animal Care Center for fitting an emergency surgery in on a budget and thanks to CRISP supporters for continuing to help us keep families together!

CRISP is proud to be one of the services in Chicago providing end of life care for pets including humane euthanasia services were pets can be with their family during their passing.

Today CRISP is helping a client's elderly dog pass peacefully. We light a candle for this family and their sweet dog.

Look who's feeling better! There's nothing like watching a dog go from death's door to on the mend, back with their family where they belong.

The situation at our local animal shelter continues to be scary and unsafe for dogs, specifically large dogs and pitbulls like Coco. CRISP is so proud to work with our community to run a true shelter diversion program, assisting pets and their families in their worst moments.

This is Coco. She came into the vet on death's door. It was determined that she had a blockage and need emergency surgery to live.

A tale as old as time, her family spent everything they could on initial diagnostics and treatment before the surgery. They had no funds left for the surgery.

Normally at this point there are two options: Euthanize or surrender her to a shelter.

Thankfully, Countryside Veterinary Center has partnered with us to make sure their clients have a third option: CRISP.

We've had an influx of cases over the lat week, and we're super grateful that we've been able to say yes to all our referrals!

Capone is just a puppy, when he came down with parvo his family did what they could to treat him but they couldn't afford hospitalization. We helped, and he's currently at Countryside Veterinary Center getting the care he needs.
