On this third Sunday in Lent we open the fourth Torah scroll (book of Numbers) to find the freed Hebrews now traversing the wilderness. And we hear Jesus speaking to Nicodemus, citing this passage in Numbers. The selected music throughout (thanks to authors Issac Watts, Tom Eggleston and Elizabeth Clephane) not only help to interpret these passages, but also testify to the divine liberating love and saving grace, exhibited through God and Jesus.
