Our Nutrition Services Team has been working hard all summer to create school meal options made from scratch, AND all CUSD students can enjoy FREE lunch for the 2025-26 school year!

Established in 1965

The original public school was Salem Street School in 1865. The building was a single school house with a temporary roof and wooden floors. In 1965, a special election was held and Chico Unified School District was formed.

Chico Unified has expanded to include a diverse curriculum:
