Moving Forward With Hope and Gratitude

We want to thank the community for the overwhelming love and support shown to our libraries and staff over the past few days. We have experienced a range of emotions from anger and sadness to gratitude and empathy, and now, we are beginning to feel a sense of hope.

Yesterday marked a significant new chapter for our County Library as we reopened five branches to the public. Staff and patrons filled the libraries with songs, stories, and smiles.

While we continue to grieve, we appreciate that we can share this grieving process together in these spaces. As we move forward in providing the library services and programs our communities rely on, we will continue to remember and honor the victims.

Once again, we thank you all. Butte County has always stood by its libraries, and the past few days have truly highlighted the strength and warmth of our community.

Worth celebrating and protecting.
