It’s a week after Thanksgiving and you’re breaking out more than usual (hey it happens, but also I’m sure you’re thinking WHYYYY!)

I’m here to pop in with a few kind reminders and explain why these pimples may be popping up

Let’s start with the kind reminders, because we both need those right now!!
~ acne doesn’t make you dirty or ugly or less than
~ you’re capable of healing and these pimples will go away
~ nobody cares about acne on my face more than I do
~ my acne doesn’t scare people away and most people don’t notice

Okay now let’s chat about the holiday trifecta that can cause these pimples to pop off:
stress + food + inflammation

Stress: whether it’s happy stress (planning for the holidays, time management, cooking, seeing loved ones etc) or the not so fun added stressors of the holidays (finances, family drama, balancing schedules etc) stress IS impacting your hormones, mental health & physical well being. Higher cortisol = acne

Food: it’s the holidays, yes you can (and should!) live your best lives! Enjoy foods that taste good and are fun to make. Enjoying more indulgent dishes, splashing in more dairy / gluten / sugars etc. will impact your skin. Enjoying more caffeine & alcohol intake during the holidays impacts your skin and acne as well. Try to release any guilt and don’t deprive yourself from enjoying a beloved family dish. Just adjust expectations and understand the acne WILL heal, promise!

Inflammation: this ties into the combo from the above, but when you’re feeling more stress, indulging in foods out of your norm, baking more sweets and just trying to make & enjoy the magic the holidays can bring- inflammation will follow. The more inflammation you’re carrying internally, the more it’ll show externally (aka your skin)

Now tis’ the season to be jolly so I don’t want you losing sleep over a few breakouts!! Keep your skincare routine consistent, find balance between the fun and give yourself grace. ā™„ļø

Somehow I blinked and here we are, winding down at Ginger Roots preparing for maternity leave. Holy smokes, time has flown!

I have four facial openings left before I’m starting my leave and I’m here to give you the warmest welcome in. I’d really love to see and serve you before I’m away for a few months!

Not every opening showed above will be available on my online booking~ I encourage you to reach out to me on here or through text to snag a spot!

I’m beyond thankful for you booking your facials with me, purchasing skincare with me, connecting with me and just being a dang sweet human to be around. 🧔

I appreciate you for keeping me in your budget during these hard times. I know how hard you work to provide for you and your loved ones; the fact you enjoy your time with me enough and see the value in my offerings to keep me around, means the world. šŸ«¶šŸ»

I’ll be savoring our 1:1 time with one another over the next few weeks! Can’t wait to see you!!
Your holistic esthetician & friend,
Jill
