Hey hey everyone - it’s Mel here ♥️🫶
This page has been quiet for some time as Brandon and I have shifted gears professionally! He is working on his handyman business Brandon Houle Handyman and I am pursuing my private practice helping folks overcome trauma and inner child wounds and take hold of their life with both hands! Additionally, this year I made it my goal to start my writing career. I have decided to dive into compiling my first book of poetry and I am going to be self publishing this book, called The Girl with the Ladybug Tattoo 🐞 hopefully sometime in early 2023! I had spent most of this year working on writing my trauma recovery memoir and I am hoping that by launching this book of poetry first, I’ll be laying the foundation to reach a global audience with my story once I’m ready to publish it.
Today marks 1 year since we were on our drive back home from Virginia, to move into our dream home. I realize now it was so much more than that…these big life changes we made, including the very difficult decision to close down our boutique after 6 beautiful years, they all led to both Brandon and I finding our happiest and most authentic selves. We are both finding personal and professional fulfillment we never thought possible…and none of it would have happened without all of YOU and your constant support all these years!

Just a couple of Brandon’s latest smaller projects. A small flower bed/planter, replaced hand railings going to a basement with sturdier ones, and sanding and painting a front door.
Brandon is fully insured and ready to work. Whether you have a large project or need to get working your "to do" list before the seasons change, he is the guy to call!

Hey everyone! It’s been a bit but we are still here and adjusting to a whole new routine as a family of entrepreneurs!
Brandon is kicking ass with his handyman business and has a ton of jobs rolling in, which we are SO grateful for! Check out some pics of recent projects he has done! 🛠 🧰

Lotus & Compass Inc is a family-owned online boutique and yoga studio, located in Chicopee, Massachusetts. We offer a unique curation of women’s clothing sizes S-3XL, as well unique accessories and gift items, many of which are sourced from fellow small business owners across the country. In addition to our online boutique, we also offer virtual yoga classes for all ages and levels of practice.
Melaney and Brandon Houle have been selling women’s clothing online since 2016. What started out as a side gig to bring in extra money and allow Melaney to be home more with her children, has evolved into a lifestyle brand that is now our full time family business. In October of 2018, we took the big step to establish our very own company, so that we could have full control of every single item sourced for our online store. Brandon’s 20 year background in retail, coupled with Melaney’s education and experience as a licensed social worker has evolved into an online community that is about so much more than just shopping. Our community thrives on connection, friendship, a passion for kindness and a little bit of snarky sarcastic humor added to the mix.
In July of 2019, Melaney and Brandon opened a brick and mortar location, in Chicopee Center. The brick and mortar store quickly achieved the goal of becoming the physical manifestation of our existing online community: a destination for women in Western Massachusetts to come and enjoy a low key boutique shopping experience, in an environment that is about kindness and friendship. In March of 2020, Lotus & Compass Inc launched the next branch of their brand, Lotus & Compass Yoga. Unfortunately, soon after with the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic, Lotus & Compass Inc was forced to close it’s physical doors. After many months of remaining closed down due to the pandemic, Melaney and Brandon made the difficult decision to permanently close the brick and mortar location and resume all operations online, in an effort to provide safety our family and customers.
While Lotus & Compass Inc no longer has a physical location, our goal and mission remains the same: to be a safe space for women (and men) of all backgrounds to feel seen, heard and valued. We believe in the power of relationship and connection; and that belief is at the core of everything that we do. Fashion and yoga are our vehicles to bring empowerment and joy to our customers and friends. And we would be honored to have you on this journey with us.
