Happy Hispanic Heritage Month! This special month highlights and commemorates the contributions of Hispanic Americans. The month begins today, September 15 and continues until October 15. The day of September 15 is significant because it is the anniversary of independence for Latin American countries Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua. In addition, Mexico and Chile celebrate their independence days on September 16 and September 18, respectively.
At Catholic Charities and AccuracyNow, we celebrate our Hispanic co-workers, who serve and empower the Hispanic community and others in need in our area, and our interpreters, breaking down the language barrier and facilitating equal access to services.
