☀️Happy Summer!! Keep your kiddos from suffering from the "summer slide”! 🛝 One common rule of thumb is to have your child commit to reading at least ⏱️ 20 minutes a day. 📖Reading just 4 to 6 books over the summer can prevent a decline in reading achievement! 📈

📚👀 Getting “caught” usually isn’t a good thing… but in May, it absolutely is! 😄
May is “Get Caught Reading Month” — a celebration that began in 1999 to encourage a love of reading ❤️📖
At OTRLC, we work with struggling readers to help build confidence and inspire a lifelong love of books. 🌟 Every reader deserves the chance to shine and proudly “Get Caught Reading”!
With warmer weather here, May is the perfect time to grab a book, head outside ☀️🌳, and make your reading visible to the world! 📚✨

Happy Right to Read Day! 📚✨
Today is all about celebrating the joy of reading and making sure every child has the support they need to become a confident reader.
Last year, the Over the Rhine Learning Center hosted a community viewing of the documentary The Right to Read. The film follows the inspiring stories of families and teachers working together to provide children with the foundation they need for lifelong success.
At the Over-the-Rhine Learning Center, we see every day how personalized support can help a young student discover a love for books. Whether it’s sharing a favorite story or supporting local literacy programs, we can all play a part in building a community of readers.
Want to learn more? You can watch the documentary on platforms like YouTube to see how communities across the country are helping the next generation thrive.
Happy reading, everyone! 📖❤️
