Do you ever wake up on the wrong side of the bed?
I woke up feeling negative about everything today - for no reason.
Maybe I didn’t sleep well?
Watch says I slept fine?
I didn’t want to do my workout.
I didn’t even want to go for a walk.
I looked in the mirror and thought - ur old!
Hated everything in my closet.
Felt bloated and fat.
I didn’t care if what I ate was nutritious or not (but egg whites and spinach was all I had😂).
Thought about my dog and felt angry he’s gone.
I was throwing a private self-pity party in my mind 🤭.
No matter what came to mind - my inner talk was just crap.
I thought about laying on the couch and doing nothing.
I decided to plant some flowers instead 🌸
I hopped in my jeep.
Threw on my “Sunshine” playlist 🌞
Got the flowers 🌸
Threw on my “Sunshine” playlist again 🌞
Planted the flowers 🌸
Then watched the busy little bees in my front yard for awhile 🐝
Listened to my “Tank” wind chime as the wind blew and saw his sweet face😊
And just like that my grumpy goggles were gone.
What changed?
My life - didn’t change.
My circumstances - didn’t change.
My environment - exactly the same.
MY PERCEPTION CHANGED.
How did it change?
I didn’t tell myself positive affirmations.
I could have said 1000 positive things to myself and would have still felt like crap.
I changed the way I FELT.
By feeling different - my perception changed.
So how did I change how I felt?
I know what works for me.
Here’s what I did…
…I got up and moved.
…I listened to specific music.
…I felt the sun and the wind on my face.
…I spent some time in nature.
I hope this resonates with someone today. I’d love to know what works for you when you wake up on the wrong side of the bed❤️
Much love,
Brooke

PUT IN THE REPS! 💪💪💪💪
As I created a workout program tonight,
I thought about putting in the reps.
Then I started thinking…🤔
…about another kind of workout,
that is far more important⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️
INNER TRAINING 🧘🏻♀️
It’s a lot like a gym workout in that you don’t see results overnight.
There is no quick fix or magic pill. 💊
You need discipline, consistency, and time in the game.❤️
Eventually things will begin to evolve and transform.
And much like a strength routine if you quit –
you lose your gains.
Inner Training has to be a lifestyle.
A part of who you are.
So how do you start an inner training program?
AWARENESS✅
By becoming aware of who you are.
So how do you do that?
OBSERVING✅
Let your life be your training ground.
Get to know who you are.
Observe your mind AND the one who is suffering it.
Observe the things you are thinking/feeling/doing…
…with no judgment.
Whatever is there is ok😊
What kind of programs are running in the background?
What are you thinking and feeling and feeling and thinking?
How are you suffering because of it?
How much of what you think is just a story and how much of it is real?
You can’t change it if you can’t see it.
Let me know if you can relate to this😊
Much love,
Brooke

DAILY HABITS LEAD TO BIG OUTCOMES
We’ve all heard the old saying, “A journey of 1,000 miles begins with a single step” right?
But why is it so hard when it’s something you know is good for you?
Maybe because we’re brainwashed by marketers to believe in quick, miracle fixes for everything – instant weight loss, spot reductions, and more.
Sorry, but ancient sayings persist for a good reason: THEY ARE TRUE!
So, the secret to making big, positive changes isn’t instant gratification.
It’s making small changes to create new daily habits.
This philosophy made a huge best-seller of the book “Atomic Habits,” which suggests we make molecular change at first, then add to it more and more, and repeat this until a new, positive behavior becomes ingrained in our life.
It’s the ages-old idea of delayed gratification: If I make this small sacrifice today, I will be really, really happy about it later.
• If I save 10 percent of my paycheck, I’ll have money when it’s time to retire.
• If I reduce my number of junk snacks by one each week, then I’ll have cut them all in no time.
• If I lift a small weight to start out, then keep lifting, get stronger, add more weight… and repeat the process - I'll be as strong and lean as I want to be in no time (the hardest part is just starting).
So, as 2023 begins, keep in mind this super-wise advice to start small, make progress one step at a time… be consistent… be patient… and you will BE SUCCESSFUL in whatever you pursue.
I'm curious - what is one tiny habit you can start right now?
Much love,
Brooke
