I had a dream...
Working in multiple areas of pharmacy, I saw the overmedication of America in every arena: LTC, hospitals, retail pharmacies.
I tried to help individual patients in each arena when I identified drug interactions, unnecessary medications, patients confused or unable to afford meds. I ran into obstacles to be effective through the available avenues.
My dream was to be part of the provider-patient team...in the providers' offices...to be able to sit down with patients and address the above issues in order to help improve outcomes and decrease the needs for higher levels of care through medication management.
My dream came true! And today marks 7 years since I started in an office helping the providers to manage chronic disease states. I have been working in 3 of their locations ever since.
In 2020, in a testimonial by the CEO of Crossroad Health Center. Jamie Berrens stated "The unique perspective of a medication expert has been a win for our patients and our team of providers at Crossroad Health Center."
In November 2022, I was able to bring on another practice. I am literally living my dream every day. What an incredible privilege.
