Since its scrappy beginnings, has always thrived when forced to do some creative problem solving. From dinners in an apple orchard to serving six and seven-course meals out of a closed bakery during its off-hours, Chef Brad Greenhill has always known how to pivot. In the spirit of the last ten years of TAKOI doing its own thing, the TAKOI Ten Year Anniversary Tour will include a series of unique pop-ups and collabs locally and away

Located in the Corktown neighborhood of Detroit, TAKOI began as a food truck in 2014 and then established their brick-and-mortar location in 2016. Known for its contemporary take on Thai cuisine that also celebrates Michigan seasonality, TAKOI also operates HiO Farm which is located just two miles north of the restaurant. Truly farm-to-table, with the addition of Thai pantry staples, it is not uncommon for ingredients to be delivered from the farm to the restaurant on an as-needed basis during dinner service.

Congratulations to Crown Restaurant Group on the recent news announcing another strategic partnership with .

From the restaurant group that has brought you Crown Republic Gastropub, Losanti, Crown Cantina, Rosie’s Italian, and Five on Vine, the group’s newest restaurant — located on the ground floor of The Foundry along Fifth Street — will feature the group’s continued commitment to their from-scratch values, approachability, and comforting flavors that make you feel at home wherever you are and wherever you are from. The new space will feature 3,600-square-feet of culinary entertainment on the ground-floor slated to open in fall of 2024.

The Foundry is a mixed-use development located at the former Fountain Place. Across from Fountain Square, The Foundry features approximately 150,000 square feet of office space which is already 100 percent occupied and 35,000 square feet of street-level restaurant and retail space which is currently 87 percent leased. The renovated development also features a 164-space underground parking garage.
