🌟 SOBER STORY OF THE WEEK: Perry Grammer 🌟

"Using felt comfortable. Being sober felt unbearable. So for a long time, I kept choosing what felt comfortable. The results were not pretty. I ran out of road. People in recovery call that moment the jumping off point. I know it as my saving grace."

Finding the Saving Grace
For a long time, choosing what felt "comfortable" seemed like the only way to get through the day. But as anyone who has walked the path of addiction knows, that comfort is an illusion that eventually runs out of road. For Perry Grammer, hitting that wall wasn't the end—it was the exact moment his life began to transform.

In recovery, we often talk about the "jumping off point," the terrifying yet liberating moment when you realize you cannot continue the way you’ve been living, but you don't yet know what lies ahead. Perry embraced that moment, choosing to step into the unknown of a sober life. Today, he looks back at that critical crossroads not as a tragedy, but as his ultimate saving grace.

Lived Experience in Action
Now firmly rooted in long-term sobriety, Perry has turned his personal victory into a lifeline for others. He isn't just surviving; he is thriving and pulling others up with him.
Perry brings his profound lived experience to the team at Ohio Community Health (OCH) Recovery Centers. Doing incredible work on the front lines of behavioral health, Perry serves as a powerful reminder that recovery is possible, sustainable, and deeply rewarding. By combining deep empathy with real-world structure, he helps clients navigate early sobriety, rewrite their inner stories, and find their own saving grace.

Thank you, Perry, for your vulnerability, your dedication, and for showing the Cincinnati community what true resilience looks like!
