Tap Into Faith

Yesterday’s set had the working title “Forbidden Reflections”. It grew out of one of the regulars shouting out “Free Bird!” one time too often, lol.
The original idea was to play songs that are overplayed at guitar stores: Hotel California, Stairway to Heaven, More than Words…as it evolved it began to take on a second life as an exploration of allure and temptation, moving into loneliness, loss, and yearning, then finishing with hope and freedom - perfect for the end of a school year and the fresh start of summer vacation.
I had a blast sneaking in some Billy Idol, which appears to have been a hit with these adorable little boys (who were indifferent to the song’s deeper context of someone physically there but emotionally absent).
