Freedom. Health. Equity.
Juneteenth commemorates the day enslaved people in Texas finally learned they were free—more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation. It is a celebration of liberation, resilience, and Black excellence, while also serving as a reminder that the work of equity continues.
Health outcomes should never be determined by race, ethnicity, or zip code. Yet Black women continue to face disproportionate barriers to care, higher rates of maternal mortality, and persistent inequities across sexual and reproductive health.
At SHE+, we believe health equity is essential to freedom. Every person deserves access to respectful, evidence-based, culturally competent healthcare that supports their well-being and dignity.
Today, we honor Juneteenth by celebrating progress, acknowledging the work still ahead, and recommitting ourselves to a future where equitable healthcare is a reality for all.

We hear it all the time:
“It’s just bad cramps.”
“That’s normal.”
“Maybe it’s anxiety.”
But for many people living with endometriosis, those words can delay answers for years.
Research suggests that the average time to diagnosis is still 7–10 years. During that time, people miss school, cancel plans, call off work, avoid intimacy, and learn to push through pain that was never meant to be normal.
At SHE+, we believe a functioning life is not the benchmark for whether someone deserves care.
If your pain is interfering with your ability to live, work, love, or simply exist comfortably—you deserve to be heard.
You deserve answers.
You deserve relief.
You deserve to be believed.
