After another productive meeting with Mayor Aftab, I swung by for a quick pick-me-up.
The coffee was great (really great!), but it was the conversation with this guy that gave me the lift I needed. , 15 minutes with you brought a genuine smile to my face. Your positivity, wisdom, and presence is exactly what I needed today, and every day!🫶

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗮𝘆 ’𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝘄𝗮𝘆.
When I considered getting my MBA, two trusted mentors gave me very different advice. One said, “You don’t need a degree to prove your worth.”
The other? “Go for it.”
So I made a promise: pursue the degree, but never at the expense of my peace, purpose, or people.
Five years later, here’s what the journey looked like:
📘: 15 classes
✍🏼: 45 papers
💻️: 30 exams
☕️: Countless coffees
🙏🏼: Even more prayers
😅: 8 “what was I thinking?” moments
📚️: 1 memoir mid-degree
🌍️: 1 global pandemic
❤️: 1 very full heart
It wasn’t fast or perfect...but it was intentional. And I wouldn’t trade it for anything.
Thank you, , for creating a program that honored the season I was in and helped me grow as a leader without losing myself in the process.
To every working parent, dreamer, or late bloomer: there’s no deadline on growth. Just grace. And grit.
