TODAY'S SPOTLIGHT -- CAN YOU HELP?

Join Us for a Project Linus Blanket Prep Day! We are meeting at:

The River Church
5546 Cincinnati Dayton Road,
Liberty Township, OH, 45044

Saturday, March 28, 2026, 9 am to 2:00 ish pm

For this work day, we have a special need: folks to help us cut and prepare 130 yards of fleece for a "Make a Blanket" service day that we are supervising for in April. Tasks include:
· cutting 2 yard and 1 ½ yard segments
· removing the salvage
· cutting out 5-inch square corners
We will have scissors, straight edges, measuring tape and cutting mats. If you have a rotary cutter handle, we will have 45 mm blades. If you have an extra cutting edge that would help too.

Fear Not! We will also have
· Some fleece for making both no sew tied fringe fleece blankets and no sew fleece blankets hole punched for crocheted edging.
· pre cut kits for sewing quilt tops, and batting to go.
· skeins of yarn for sharing.

Of course, we will be happy to receive any blankets Blanketeers have been working on this winter.

We are meeting at The River Church, 5546 Cincinnati Dayton Road, Liberty Township, OH. The church is set back from the road. There is a very visible sign at the road’s edge. The parking lot is spacious. Look for the doors labeled, West Entrance. The Main Entrance works, too. There are just many more steps up!

· For those who would like to sew a quilt top, please bring your sewing machine and scissors, white thread, filled bobbins, and basic notions.
· All are Welcome, children (12 years old and up) should be accompanied by a parent/adult.
· Parent/Child pairs who complete a no sew fleece blanket can earn service hours toward their school’s community service hours requirements.
· Serving a light snack, bring your own favorite beverage.

Can you join us? Please RSVP to 513-321-2065 to reserve a seat (text and voice messages) Questions? Contact us via email at [email protected] or 513-321-2065 (text and voice messages) Thank you for your help! TODAY’S SPOTLIGHT – BLANKETS IN AND BLANKETS OUT

Chapter Linus has spent the first few weeks of January 2026 doing his accounting due diligence. With the “closing the books” for 2025, Chapter Linus learned that our wonderful Blanketeers made and distributed a little over 3,000 blankets in 2025.

Each Project Linus chapter is responsible for sending accurate reports of blankets received and blankets delivered each month to the national Project Linus office in Belton, Missouri. We are very careful to meet each of the US Federal Tax Reporting requirements for a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Under the direction of Patty Gregory, our non-profit’s president, Project Linus is recognized as a 4-Star Charity by Charity Navigator. *

Since the program inception in 1995, over 10 million blankets have been distributed all over these United States. As of today, our Southwest Ohio and Northern KY group, formed in 2001, has distributed just under 95,000 beautifully and lovingly handmade blankets.

We give thanks to all of our Blanketeers, volunteer drop off locations, and generous donors of fabric and yarn!

*A 4 Star Charity is the highest rating awarded by Charity Navigator, indicating an "exceptional" nonprofit that adheres to industry best practices, operates with high financial efficiency, and maintains strong accountability and transparency. This designation is achieved by only about 25% of evaluated organizations.

October Chapter Update #4 – GO Mustangs!

In early October we received a note from Ms Brenda Keltner, the Family and Consumer Sciences Teacher at Lynchburg Clay High School. Once again, she and her students had set aside time to make 20 double layer tied fringe fleece blankets for Project Linus. It was a very pleasant trip to receive their gifts and chat with a few of the “makers.”
