Airtrek Robotics
Robots for safer airport grounds
01/22/2026
Excited to share that Airtrek Robotics has been selected for the FLITE program at the Gerald R. Ford International Airport (GRR). โ๏ธ๐ค
This season, weโll be piloting a proof-of-concept (POC) for our autonomous wingwalking technologyโdemonstrating it in a real-world FBO environment and working with Avflight, a leading FBO with a national network, as we evaluate performance in day-to-day operations.
Weโre energized to pilot alongside a strong cohort of aviation-focused autonomous technologies and help push the future of safer, more reliable ground handling forward.

One month. 15 demos. One clear signal: airplanes are ready for ground-collision protection.
This clip shows IRIS tracking live aircraft and continuously watching the wings to help prevent ground-collision damage. Across the demos we saw it all โ bright sun, nighttime ops, heavy rain, fog, high winds, and even snow โ and our system performed phenomenally, proving aircraft can be protected in almost any condition.
Our demo sprint did exactly what it needed to do: prove the technology with real operators in real environments, alongside real customers.
In 2026, we will head to multiple cities as we test and deploy with major customers in their own hangars and on their own ramps.
Huge thanks to our partners at Reynolds Jet for continuously towing aircraft for us throughout development and demos โ we couldnโt have proven out this technology without them.
Stay tuned as we continue to redefine aviation safety!
๐ฅ Check out our COO, Jon Taylor, PMP, sharing what weโre building at Airtrek Robotics and how weโre shaping the future of aviation safety.
Big thanks to Cintrifuse and StartupCincy for capturing this moment.

๐ Cincinnatiโs Startup Momentum Is Real
What an incredible week at Week 2025!
We had the chance to showcase IRIS and share how our City-as-a-Lab partnership is helping us bring real innovation to aviation safety right here in Cincinnati.
Grateful to be part of such an inspiring, collaborative ecosystem โ where startups, mentors, and city leaders work together to turn big ideas into real impact.
The momentum is real. The future is bright. ๐
We canโt wait for next year!
โ๏ธ Aircraft suffer millions in damage every year from hangar rash โ those โsmallโ bumps on wingtips, tails, and fuselages that lead to big repair bills.
Weโre teaching AI to prevent it. ๐ซ๐ค
From simulation โ to real aircraft โ to live robotic guidance, our system uses LiDAR + cameras to see space clearly and keep planes safe.
Safer skies. Smarter ground handling. The future is here. ๐

Reynolds Jet
The solution to hangar rash isn't just a better processโit's superhuman vision.
In this video, you'll see a private jet being towed into the hangar alongside a live look at one of our robots eyes, a lidar outputting a 3D pointcloud. That colorful cloud is millions of data points analyzing the environment with ultimate precision.
This is what allows our autonomous wingwalker to see every potential obstacle and create a digital safety bubble around the aircraft.
Itโs simple: the more data we gather, the smarter our wingwalker gets, and the closer we are to eliminating hangar rash for good.
Another great day of R&D at Reynolds Jet !
Hangar rash? We're making it a thing of the past.
Hereโs a glimpse of the first step. Our Airtrek Robotics team is on-site at Reynolds Jet, using our IRIS robot to gather the essential data needed to train the AI for our new autonomous wingwalker.
Our engineers Huzefa Dossaji and Jon Taylor are capturing every detail to ensure our system can track aircraft and prevent collisions with 100% accuracy. The future of ground safety is autonomous.
A massive shoutout to our partners at Reynolds Jet for helping us push the boundaries of aviation!
Follow along the journey as we develop our new wingwalking robot from ground up.

Repositioning aircraft inside a hangar shouldnโt feel like solving a puzzle blindfolded. Yet for many MROs and airport operators, thatโs the daily realityโburning time, space, and skilled labor to manually maneuver aircraft with precision.
Wingwalkers. Stopwatches. Guesswork. Itโs time to modernize.
Airtrek is redefining hangar logistics with AI-powered towing automationโeliminating hangar rash risk, freeing up crews, and unlocking up to 30% more usable floor space.
The result? Fewer incidents. Faster turnarounds. Higher ROI.

Did you know?
Manual FOD inspections can take up to 6 hours per dayโand still miss critical debris.
Enter Airtrek: Autonomous bots using intelligent sensors and AI to continuously scan and clean runways in real time.
Less downtime. Fewer delays. Safer skies.

$22.7 BILLION. Thatโs the global cost of FOD incidents each yearโdamaged engines, blown tires, delayed flights, and more.
But Airtrek is flipping the script.
With AI-powered robots, airports can now detect and clear debris 24/7, even in bad weather. No more relying solely on slow, manual checks. Safety just got smarter. ๐ก
