Losing friendships is hard!
This happens frequently during developmental transitions – starting middle school/junior high or starting high school, starting a new job and making new friends, starting the process of college applications and transitioning towards college life, etc. These are common but extremely painful. I really like this article that talks about how to support preteens and teens as they are navigating this part of life.
