⁉️How did we come up with “Island Meets Main?”⁉️

When an Island girl from Hawai’i meets a Mainland girl from Oregon you get “Island meets Main.”

Growing up, the remaining U.S. states beyond the islands of Oahu has always been referred to as “The Mainland.”

In 2015, I made my move from Island to Mainland; Hawai’i to Oregon. That move, allowed me to meet my girlfriend Elizabeth.

In 2019, we got to visit my friends and family back home in Hawai’i which was Elizabeth’s first time. From day one she fell in love with the food, the culture and the aloha spirit. That trip changed everything for us.

From that moment we felt inspired to bring a little piece of my home from the islands to her home in the mainland through good food and aloha spirit.

However, it wasn’t until the Pandemic that we felt the urge to step away from our normal 9-5 jobs and chase after our dreams no matter the challenges. After all, life is too short to wonder the “what if’s.”

We’re so excited to start sharing this inspiration with you all by serving Filipino/Hawaiian food at the on Saturdays beginning May 15, 2021. See you folks there! 🤙🏼
