We work with schools, restaurants, and institutions to reduce landfill bound waste!

Hi. These are a couple of our food scrap cans that were just delivered to a retirement community. They want to keep their food scraps out of landfills to reduce methane emissions. We will use these scraps in our compost to make a value added soil for more food production! Thank you for your environmental consciousness and business!

Thank you to this new customer in Detroit that recycled their glass bottles, broken glasses, and broken plates with us. This glass will be reduced into sand and used for storm water retention and pollution capture. This company will turn this valuable resource into value added products that will help keep it from being buried in landfills.
We hope to sign up more restaurants and institutions who throw away glass! Please pass our information along. Thank you!

We now collect glass and broken dishes for restaurants and institutions! This material will be pulverized into sand to be used in watershed pollution mitigation (bioswale). Let's keep these materials out of landfills and serving a higher purpose.

Drop your food scraps off at our location in Clarkston in Oakland County! We will turn it into high value compost, and keep methane generation out of landfills.

Looks petty gross, right? Well, It kind of is. It contains hot food scraps and cardboard that we pick up along some of the stops on our route. The red juice is beet juice. This material makes a nice/nutrient rich nitrogen source that we mix with leaves and wood fines. After we mix these materials together, we add air and water which fires up bacteria that feed on the leafy/woody material. It creates heat that kill pathogens and w**d seeds. We then test the finished compost through the Seal of Testing Assurance (STA) program at the United States Composting Council. This testing is available on the Country Oaks website.
