Birch Lane siding update! This northern Illinois addition project nestles two new bedrooms and an ensuite bathroom right up to the side set back of this quaint old log home. Rather than building out back, blocking the view of the serene lake below, we carefully placed this addition to optimize both the functional needs of the clients as well as the aesthetic desires to maintain their unobstructed view and terraced rear yard. The new blackened vertical wood siding serves to contrast old & new to pay respect to the original log home and not try to mimic it.

Doing some research for a fun feasibility study. Beautiful spaces like this don't need much. Just stabilize, secure and celebrate the history & character of this special place for it's next life.
