The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) Spotted Lanternfly Strategic Planning Working Group has released the Spotted Lanternfly (SLF) Five-Year Strategy for fiscal years 2024-2028. Steven Long, President of the National Plant Board and co-chair of the SLF working group said, “The National Plant Board believes that this renewed and refocused approach to managing spotted lanternfly will buy us the time needed to solve this plant pest riddle.” Read more at the link below. https://content.govdelivery.com/accounts/USDAAPHIS/bulletins/36208e7?reqfrom=share

Attracting and retaining women in forest entomology and forest pathology 06/25/2023

Very proud of our most recent paper coming out of the Clemson Forest Health lab. This was a multi-year collaboration with wonderful folks across the world to look at ways we can support women in forest health. This work has also led to sessions and workshops at international meetings as well as the beginnings of a mentorship program. We made sure that this paper was published Open Access through Forest Policy and Economics so it's available to anyone so please read and share! We're very excited to see what else this research inspires!
