When you think about your first dance, do you feel excited or a little bit anxious? Many couples tell me they’re most nervous for this event during their wedding reception. Your first dance doesn’t have to be intimidating, and it should always be a reflection of you and your partner’s personalities and relationship đŸ€ Below are a few tips to follow:

1. Consider choreographing your dance, or at least portions of it. This can be a fun bonding activity AND it makes for great photos like the ones above. If you’re not interested in taking in-person lessons, YouTube is a great resource to use at home.

2. On that note, practice makes perfect! Walking through your first dance before the big day will help ease any jitters. Even if you just practice one dip for a fun photo, I promise it will be worth it.

3. If you’re not keen on being in the spotlight, talk with your band or DJ and determine a point in your song that you’d like the music to fade out or stop. There’s no rule that says you have to dance for the entire song!
