Look at this one! Our Remi is officially adopted! He was the longest foster we’ve ever had at the ranch! He was with us for over 2 years and 2 months! But guess what? His Iowa foster, named Ron, decided to adopt him after fostering him the last 2 1/2 months. We couldn’t be happier for him! They seem like a great match! Thanks to Tails in Transit for finding Remi such a great furever home!♥️🐾♥️

Another happy pupdate! Roxie has been officially adopted by her Iowa fosters. Roxie was originally fostered by Dennis and Mary Buffo in the neighborhood with some assistance from Roxy’s K9 Ranch (her namesake). We are so happy for that sweet girl. It sounds like a perfect fit. Also thanks to Tails in Transit for finding this great new family for her! Happy tails Roxie girl!

Update on Chip:
X-rays show two spinal lesions (advanced arthritis) which most likely is causing him a lot of pain. He also has slight elevation in WBCs but nothing else found to cause an infection. All organs are in good working order and f***l is clean. He was given a pain shot and put on antibiotics as a precaution. We are also giving him anti-inflammatory/pain meds orally. He seems much better already and back to eating and his “normal” behavior/activity. Unfortunately, these are just changes and things we see with our seniors sometimes. We do all we can to keep them happy and comfortable for as long as possible.🙏🏻🐾🫶🏻

Our Chip boy needs prayers. Something is wrong with him and is currently having tests done to try and determine what’s going on. He was fine at bedtime last night but not fine at breakfast this morning. He was shaking, weak, salivating, had an increased respiration rate and uninterested in eating. He was taken to the vet this morning despite coincidentally he was scheduled this afternoon for his yearly checkup. After initial assessment, he also has a fever, increased heart rate and tenderness in his abdomen. X-rays taken but only showed some sort of lesion on spine indicating arthritic changes. Currently waiting on bloodwork results next. He’s a sweet old boy and was also saved from the euthanasia list at BARC in April 2023. He’s a 3 year resident at our senior dog ranch.🙏🏻🐾🙏🏻

We have been busy with life lately but things at the ranch keep on going. We’ve had many vet appointments and another transport leave out in the early morning hours of April 19 taking 4 dogs and 1 cat from the ranch. One of the pups (Roxie) was fostered by neighbors Dennis and Mary and the others were residents of the ranch. We said goodbye to Bunny and Bear (the Samoyed siblings), Mazie (rescued from the cruelty case on 3/13 from Woodville, TX) and Lucy the cat (affectionately named by our grandson). Lucy adopted us a few months ago when she showed up as a stray and moved in! They made their way to Iowa and into their foster homes. More updates on their journey to come!
