Happy Flag Day! 🇺🇸

Today marks the anniversary of the First Flag Resolution passed by the Continental Congress on June 14, 1777.

Did you know the original 1777 resolution only specified 13 stars and 13 stripes, but didn't dictate where the stars had to go. This led to many creative circular and staggered patterns?

Also, our current flag (the longest used of the 27 versions) was designed in 1958 by Robert G. Heft—as a 17-year-old high school class project. He initially received a B- for his work, but his grade was raised to an A after President Eisenhower chose his design!

Presented on June 3, 2026, in Nashville, this achievement reflects our continued commitment to professionalism, accountability, and excellence in serving the citizens and visitors of Cleveland.

This accreditation is the result of the hard work and dedication of our officers, professional staff, city leaders, and community partners. We are honored to receive this recognition and remain committed to providing the highest level of service and protection to our community.
