I love listening to podcasts to help me learn more and hear different perspectives! But it can be overwhelming with so many options to decide where to start in your learning journey!

I've searched to find podcasts about gestalt language processing and reviewed my favorite episodes based on the target audience (parents or therapists) and the information difficulty level to help you pick the episodes best suited to you!

Stuck single words are one of the most confusing concepts when starting out with gestalt language processing. We hear that a GLP uses long scripts, but yet, many also have a lot of single words. When determining if a child is GLP and understanding how to support them, there is often confusion about single words.

The key is to NOT expand on single words, because your efforts will probably be wasted. Expansion is an analytic approach and it won't be successful long term for a GLP.

Instead, acknowledge, figure out the meaning, and try out some flexible stage 1 gestalts to see if something matches what they are trying to communicate.

Remember that it is not a one size fits all approach with GLP and NLA. These are some examples, but it's important to observe your client or child and ask questions with family to figure out what the meaning is and what to potentially model.

There are many different ways to get therapy services for your child and various funding sources. Each option has benefits and disadvantages and each varies in the amount of out of pocket costs for the family.
