THE 5 KOSHAS:

- The koshas are the metaphorical layers that comprise the human body and mind and house the soul. The meaning comes from the Upanishads, the ancient Vedic texts that informed Hinduism and many aspects of yoga philosophy.
**Kosha translates to "sheath" in Sanskrit.**

The five koshas are:

-Annamaya kosha – physical sheath.
-Pranamaya kosha – physiological or energy sheath.
-Manomaya kosha – psychological or the mind sheath.
-Vijnanamaya kosha – wisdom sheath.
-Anandamaya kosha – bliss sheath.
