The team from the Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing at Case Western Reserve University and the MinuteClinics at CVS locations are excited to announce our research on the implementation of Age Friendly Health Systems in the 1,000+ MinuteClinics at CVS will be presented at this year’s IHI Forum in Orlando, Florida, December 10-13! Alongside our work will be leaders of quality improvement in healthcare, and we are looking forward to collaborating with and learning from each other!

The Samuel H. and Maria Miller Postdoctoral Fellowship Program is a program of the Marian K. Shaughnessy Nurse Leadership Academy designed for current nursing executives who are looking to fast-track their development and prepare for expanded leadership positions in practice and academia. The program focus is on leadership including professionalism, executive presence, communication, business skills, and the global environment. This certificate fellowship prepares fellows to navigate the unique challenges facing healthcare. The program has a national and global influence featuring accomplished speakers from practice and academia. Applications for the third cohort are now open.

Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing (Sigma) has partnered with Johnson & Johnson Foundation on a program to bring free leadership and nursing courses to frontline clinical nurses. Need help navigating difficult situations, collaborating with peers, or advocating for change in the workplace? Apply for our Nurse Empowerment Program and learn about the important challenges and opportunities that frontline nurses experience. Sigma is looking for registered clinical nurses providing direct care. Sigma membership is not required, so pass along this opportunity to colleagues you think may be eligible and interested. This program is targeting frontline nurses in the United States and Canada, with particular interest in nurses who represent minority groups. Learn more at .

The Joint Commission's digital newsletter, The Source, has published a Spotlight on Success article on MinuteClinic's efforts to to become an Age-Friendly Health System through its partnership with the Quality and Safety Education for Nurses Institute at the Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing at Case Western Reserve University.

The program's framework for measuring success are outlined, and the article notes that MinuteClinic has created a sustainable process within which to educate providers in the 4Ms framework and to continue providing age-friendly care. In addition, AFHS resources are listed for implementing age-friendly care for health care organizations.
